Godrej Consumer Products reported Q1 FY2026 consolidated revenue growth of 10% (₹3,642 crore) with strong 8% underlying volume growth, but consolidated EBITDA declined 3% due to cost headwinds. Standalone business grew 8% with 5% UVG, while EBITDA fell 6%. Africa, USA & Middle East was a bright spot with 30% sales growth, but Indonesia struggled with a 4% sales decline on macro headwinds and competitive pricing. Home Care delivered strong 16% growth led by Household Insecticides, while Personal Care was flat at 1% as Personal Wash faced commodity-driven price-volume rebalancing. Net profit (excluding one-offs) was largely flat year-on-year at ₹472 crore.
Mixed quarter for shareholders — strong topline and volume momentum is positive, but margin compression from cost headwinds and weak Indonesia performance may pressure the stock in the short term. Management's guidance of similar margin pressure in Q2 with normalisation expected in H2 FY26 provides some clarity on the recovery path.
