Google parent Alphabet debuts in Dow Jones index in tech tilt

Alphabet joined the Dow Jones Industrial Average, with its shares rising 3.7% to $350.24 on debut. The inclusion, replacing Verizon, raises the number of Magnificent Seven companies in the Dow to five. However, buying impact is expected to be limited as only about $115 billion in assets track the index versus nearly $20 trillion tracking the S&P 500.
