Govt announces key leadership changes in insurance sector

The government announced several leadership appointments in the insurance sector. Dinesh Pant, MD of LIC, has been named whole-time member (actuary) at IRDAI, and Girija Subramanian, CMD of New India Assurance, as whole-time member (distribution), both for five-year terms. Deepak Sood and Rajay Kumar Sinha were reappointed as IRDAI whole-time members for two years each, while Joshi was named CMD of GIC Re effective June 16 until September 2028.
