Granules India reported Q1FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) revenue from operations of INR 12,101 Mn, up 3% year-on-year but largely flat sequentially. However, profitability declined: EBITDA (before exceptional items) fell 5% YoY to INR 2,467 Mn, PBT dropped 6% YoY to INR 1,704 Mn, and PAT fell 16% YoY to INR 1,126 Mn, with margins compressing to 20% EBITDA and 9% PAT. Growth was driven by North America, with finished dosages making up 74% of revenue. This quarter includes financials from recently acquired Senn Chemicals AG. Net debt stood at INR 9,480 Mn (Net debt/EBITDA at 0.96x), ROCE at 16%, and operating cash flow was healthy at INR 2,806 Mn. USFDA audits at three facilities were completed with only minor observations, and the Gagillapur facility received EU GMP certification.
Mixed results for shareholders - topline growth was modest while bottomline declined sharply due to margin compression and possibly acquisition-related costs. The PAT drop of 16% YoY and sequential decline of 26% from Q4FY25 may weigh on investor sentiment in the short term, though healthy cash flows, successful regulatory audits, and Senn Chemicals integration provide a constructive longer-term outlook.
