Graphite India Limited's Board has recommended a dividend of Rs. 7 per equity share (face value Rs. 2 each) for FY2026, subject to shareholder approval at the 51st AGM. The total number of equity shares is 195,375,594. The company reported total income of Rs. 2,979 crores for the year ended March 2026, up from Rs. 2,845 crores in the previous year. However, profit before tax declined significantly to Rs. 343 crores from Rs. 569 crores in FY2025, primarily due to an exceptional item of Rs. 11 crores (net impact of new labour codes) and higher finance costs including Rs. 15 crores additional interest on electricity duty matter. EPS for the year stands at Rs. 13.54 compared to Rs. 23.15 in the previous year. The dividend will be paid within 15 days of the AGM.
Despite lower profitability, the board has maintained dividend at Rs. 7 per share, which is positive for income-seeking investors. However, the significant decline in earnings per share from Rs. 23.15 to Rs. 13.54 may weigh on the stock price.
