Graphite India reported standalone revenue of ₹2,812 Crores for FY26, up 16.2% from ₹2,420 Crores in FY25. However, profit after tax declined significantly to ₹264 Crores from ₹452 Crores in FY25, a drop of about 42%. EPS fell from ₹23.15 to ₹13.54. The decline in profitability was due to higher finance costs (₹21 Crores vs ₹6 Crores) from an adverse Supreme Court ruling on electricity duty, resulting in a ₹15 Crores additional charge. An exceptional item of ₹11 Crores (net) was recorded due to new labour codes. Consolidated PAT was ₹174 Crores vs ₹458 Crores in FY25. The board recommended a dividend of ₹7 per share. Auditors issued unmodified (clean) opinions on both standalone and consolidated financials.
Revenue grew but profitability declined sharply due to higher finance costs and labour code impact. The significant drop in PAT and EPS may negatively impact the stock price in the short term, though the dividend provides some support to shareholders.
