Graphite India reported standalone revenue of Rs 2,812 crore for FY2026, up 16% from Rs 2,420 crore in FY2025. However, profit after tax declined significantly to Rs 264 crore from Rs 452 crore in the prior year, largely due to higher finance costs (Rs 21 crore vs Rs 6 crore) including Rs 15 crore additional interest from an adverse Supreme Court ruling on electricity duty. An exceptional item of Rs 11 crore (net) was charged due to new labour codes. The company declared dividend of Rs 7 per share. EPS fell to Rs 13.54 from Rs 23.15. Auditors issued an unmodified (clean) opinion on both standalone and consolidated results.
The stock may face pressure as profit declined 42% despite revenue growth, indicating margin compression. The clean audit opinion is positive but the electricity duty litigation and subsidiary losses are concerns.
