Graphite India Limited's Board approved re-appointment of Mrs. Sudha Krishnan as Non-Executive Independent Director for a second term of 5 years (December 2026 to November 2031), subject to shareholder approval. Mrs. Krishnan has nearly four decades of experience in public policy and finance, having served in various government roles including as Member (Finance) of Space Commission and Atomic Energy Commission. The company also reported Q4 standalone loss of Rs. 87 Crores (including Rs. 16 Crores exceptional charge) with full year PAT at Rs. 264 Crores, down from Rs. 452 Crores in FY25. Consolidated PAT for FY26 stood at Rs. 174 Crores. EPS declined significantly from Rs. 23.15 in FY25 to Rs. 13.54 on standalone basis. The Board recommended dividend of Rs. 7 per share for FY26, same as previous year.
The re-appointment of an experienced Independent Director is positive for governance. However, the sharp decline in profitability (standalone PAT down 42% YoY) and negative Q4 performance indicate challenging business conditions, which could weigh on the stock price despite the maintained dividend payout.
