Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015

Grasim Industries has received a favorable ruling from the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) on 5th May 2026. The NCLAT has set aside the Competition Commission of India (CCI) order dated 16th March 2020 that had imposed a penalty of INR 301.61 crore on the company related to its Viscose Staple Fibre business. The matter has been remanded back to CCI for fresh hearing and consideration. The company had previously filed an appeal against the CCI order and obtained a stay. Importantly, Grasim had not created any provision in its books of account for this penalty, which means there is no write-back impact expected.
