Greaves Cotton Limited has approved investing approximately Rs. 50 Crores in its wholly owned subsidiary Greaves Finance Limited (GFL) through subscription to equity shares on a rights basis. GFL is an NBFC engaged in retail electric vehicle financing, lending, and lease financing for last-mile delivery operators. The subsidiary reported strong turnover growth, increasing from Rs. 5.75 Crores in FY 2023-24 to Rs. 39.52 Crores in FY 2025-26, with a net worth of Rs. 103.63 Crores. The transaction is classified as a related party transaction but conducted at arm's length. There will be no change in shareholding percentage as GFL will continue to be a wholly owned subsidiary. The deal is expected to close on or before June 5, 2026.
This is an internal capital infusion to strengthen the NBFC subsidiary's lending capacity and support its growing e-vehicle financing business. Since it involves a wholly owned subsidiary with no change in ownership structure, the direct impact on Greaves Cotton's standalone financials is minimal but signals continued focus on the EV financing vertical.
