Gujarat Industries Power Company (GIPCL) has sent reminder letters via Speed Post on 29 May 2026 to shareholders whose dividends remain unclaimed for seven consecutive years (FY 2018-19 to FY 2024-25). The unclaimed dividend amounts range from Rs. 250 to Rs. 409 per year per shareholder. Shareholders have until 30 September 2026 to claim their unpaid dividends, failing which their shares will be transferred to the IEPF Authority on 20 October 2026. The company has uploaded the full list of affected shareholders and shares on its website. This is a mandatory compliance under Section 124(6) of the Companies Act, 2013 and IEPF Rules, 2016.
Shareholders holding unclaimed dividend shares risk losing their equity holdings if they do not claim dividends by 30 September 2026. After transfer to IEPF, claims can only be made by filing e-form IEPF-5 with the IEPF Authority, making the process more complex.
