GNFC submitted its Q1 FY 25-26 investor presentation ahead of an analyst call scheduled for August 7, 2025. The company reported a weak quarter with standalone PAT falling to ₹78 crore from ₹115 crore a year ago, and operating revenue dropping to ₹1,601 crore from ₹2,021 crore, largely due to a planned annual maintenance shutdown at the Bharuch complex in April 2025. The fertilizer segment posted a loss of ₹100 crore (vs ₹44 crore loss in Q1 FY24-25) on higher energy costs, while the chemicals segment saw margin pressure in products like TDI and Aniline due to tough market conditions. On the positive side, anti-dumping duty on Aniline has been extended to July 2030, the Dahej captive power plant is expected to commission by year-end, and management noted Q2 is showing gradual improvement. Several expansion projects (Coal-Based Power Plant, Ammonia expansion, Weak Nitric Acid-III) remain on track.
Short-term results are weak and not comparable due to the shutdown, but the extended anti-dumping duty on Aniline and progress on expansion projects offer medium-term support. Investors should watch for the Government revision on urea energy and fixed costs, expected by end of calendar year 2025.
