Gujarat Cotex Ltd submitted its unaudited standalone results for the quarter ended 30 June 2025, with a clean limited review report from the auditors (no qualifications, no emphasis of matter). Revenue from operations fell sharply to ₹447.17 lakhs from ₹712.72 lakhs in the same quarter last year, a YoY decline of about 37%. Total revenue (including ₹2.05 lakhs of other income) stood at ₹489.82 lakhs against total expenses of ₹449.23 lakhs. Profit before tax came in at ₹40.59 lakhs versus ₹20.14 lakhs in Q1 FY25, effectively doubling. Profit after tax for the quarter was ₹40.59 lakhs (EPS of ₹0.28) versus ₹20.14 lakhs (EPS of ₹0.03) a year ago. The board approved the results at its meeting on 14 August 2025.
Despite the steep revenue drop, sharp margin improvement drove PAT to roughly double year-on-year, which is a positive signal on profitability. However, the 37% revenue decline is a red flag — shareholders should monitor whether this is a one-off quarter or the start of a downward trend. The clean auditor review with no red flags is reassuring.
