HB Stockholdings, an NBFC, reported audied results for FY26 with total income rising 75% to Rs 270.97L from Rs 155.08L in FY25, driven by higher interest income and net profit from equity derivative trading. However, the company posted a net loss of Rs 1,079.34L (vs Rs 1,198.70L in FY25), a modest 10% improvement. The loss was largely due to a massive Rs 857.13L net loss on fair value changes in investments (vs Rs 236.79L), reflecting mark-to-market losses in its equity portfolio. Finance costs also nearly doubled to Rs 131.47L (vs Rs 60.11L). The Board declared an unmodified (clean) audit opinion with no going concern issues. The internal auditor M/s Marv & Associates LLP was reappointed for FY27. Consolidated figures are similar, including subsidiary Mount Finance Ltd.
The stock may face pressure due to persistent large losses despite revenue growth, with the heavy fair value losses on investments signaling portfolio stress. The clean audit opinion is a relief, but negative operating cashflow of Rs -1,325.60L is a serious concern for shareholders.
