HBL Engineering reported strong Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) results. Standalone revenue from operations rose about 15% year-on-year to Rs. 58,768 lakhs, while net profit jumped roughly 88% to Rs. 13,973 lakhs (EPS of Rs. 5.03 vs Rs. 2.66). Consolidated revenue grew about 16% to Rs. 60,177 lakhs and net profit climbed around 79% to Rs. 14,327 lakhs (EPS Rs. 5.16). The Electronics segment swung from a loss last year to a profit of about Rs. 891 crores, while Industrial Batteries and Defence & Aviation Batteries also posted solid growth. The auditor (L N R Associates) issued a clean (unmodified) limited review opinion on both results. The board also reappointed Dr. A J Prasad as Chairman and Managing Director for another five years from October 1, 2025, and set September 12, 2025 as the record date for dividend eligibility.
Sharp profit growth driven by margin expansion across segments, especially Electronics, signals a strong operational quarter for shareholders. The reappointment of the founder as CMD provides leadership continuity, and the record date announcement suggests a dividend is likely to be declared at the upcoming AGM.
