HCLFoundation, the CSR arm of HCLTech, has announced a 45% increase in the annual outlay for its HCLTech Grant initiative to ₹24 crore (up from ₹16.5 crore in FY25), starting FY26. The program will introduce a new Water category and replace the Environment category with Biodiversity, while continuing Education and Healthcare categories. Each winning NGO will receive ₹5 crore for four-year projects, with eight runner-up NGOs receiving ₹50 lakh each. To date, HCLFoundation has awarded ₹152.8 crore across 59 projects spanning 142 districts in 22 states and 2 union territories, benefiting over 6.5 million lives.
This is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) announcement with no direct material impact on HCLTech's business operations, revenues, or profitability. The ₹24 crore grant outlay is a very small fraction of HCLTech's $13.8 billion in annual revenues and is unlikely to move the stock price. It reinforces the company's ESG credentials but should not be read as a change in business outlook.
