Heritage Foods reported its highest-ever quarterly revenue of ₹11,368 million, up 10% year-on-year, crossing the ₹11,000 million mark for the first time. However, profitability took a hit — EBITDA fell 21% to ₹739 million (margin compressing to 6.5% from 9.1%) and PAT dropped 31% to ₹405 million, hurt by unseasonal rains in April–May that dampened demand for value-added products (curd, buttermilk, flavoured milk, ice-creams). Milk procurement grew a healthy 9.9% to 17.8 lakh litres/day, and VAP revenue rose 5.5% to ₹4,034 million (or 7.4% to ₹4,540 million including ghee and butter). The board approved acquiring an additional 44.4% stake in HNFPL, taking total holding to 94.4% for greater control of its yogurt supply chain. Subsidiary Heritage Nutrivet posted a 26% revenue jump and a 130% surge in pre-tax profit. The company also unveiled 'Vision 2030' aiming to become India's most admired dairy nutrition brand.
Mixed near-term signal for shareholders — record topline growth is positive, but sharp declines in EBITDA and PAT along with margin compression suggest profitability is under pressure from weather-driven VAP weakness and rising raw milk costs. The yogurt subsidiary acquisition and upcoming ice-cream plant capex point to long-term growth bets, but the stock may react negatively to the 31% PAT fall in the short term.
