CARE Ratings has revised HFCL Limited's credit ratings downward on both long-term and short-term bank facilities. The long-term rating was cut from CARE A; Stable to CARE A-; Stable, and the short-term rating was lowered from CARE A1 to CARE A2+. The revision was based on the company's audited FY25 results and unaudited Q1FY26 performance. The total facility limits were also enhanced — long-term facilities rose to ₹1,256.19 crore from ₹1,000.34 crore, and short-term facilities increased to ₹2,386.63 crore from ₹2,131.63 crore.
A credit rating downgrade signals weakening creditworthiness, which may raise borrowing costs for HFCL and could weigh negatively on the stock in the short term. However, the ratings remain in the investment-grade category, and the enhanced facility limits indicate continued lender support despite the downgrade.
