The Board of Directors of Hi-Klass Trading and Investment Ltd approved unaudited standalone financial results for Q2 and H1 FY26 (ended Sept 30, 2025). Total income for Q2 FY26 stood at Rs 45.06 lakhs, up sharply from Rs 16.97 lakhs in Q2 FY25. However, for the half-year, total income declined to Rs 57.80 lakhs versus Rs 65.55 lakhs in H1 FY25. The company swung to a loss after tax of Rs 39.15 lakhs in H1 FY26, compared to a profit of Rs 39.31 lakhs in H1 FY25, driven by net losses on fair value changes and higher finance costs. Despite the accounting loss, operating cash flow was positive at Rs 51.72 lakhs. Borrowings jumped sharply to Rs 910.01 lakhs (from Rs 335.44 lakhs at March 2025), and the company continued to extend loans of nearly Rs 920 lakhs during the period. The statutory auditor (Biswas Dasgupta Datta & Roy) issued an unmodified limited review opinion.
Shareholders should note the swing to a half-yearly loss driven by mark-to-market losses and rising finance costs, even as operating cash flow remains positive. The sharp increase in borrowings and loan book expansion signal aggressive balance sheet growth, which could be a concern for a small NBFC-type entity with weak earnings visibility.
