Himatsingka Seide reported a weak Q1 FY26 with consolidated revenue from operations falling about 10.7% year-on-year to ₹65,693.55 lacs (vs ₹73,545.99 lacs in Q1 FY25). Standalone revenue declined steeper at around 18.2% to ₹50,384.12 lacs. Profit after tax on a consolidated basis swung to a profit of ₹1,089.68 lacs from a loss of ₹8,963.58 lacs last year, but this was largely because Q1 FY25 carried a one-time exceptional impairment of ₹9,460.72 lacs on goodwill from lapsed brand license rights. Standalone PAT fell sharply by about 72% to ₹575.44 lacs from ₹2,030.03 lacs, and consolidated EPS came in at ₹0.87 vs ₹0.26 last year. Finance costs remained heavy at ₹7,208 lacs (consolidated), and the company still has ₹3,282 lacs unutilised from a ₹40,000 lacs QIP raised in the previous year. Statutory auditor MSKA & Associates issued an unmodified limited review conclusion.
Despite returning to a consolidated profit, the underlying business shows clear top-line weakness and margin pressure, with standalone profits down sharply. Investors may see this as a negative signal on near-term demand and earnings quality, while the heavy finance cost burden and previous year's brand license impairment point to structural challenges in the textile business.
