Hindoostan Mills reported a net loss of Rs 147.69 lakhs in Q2 FY26 (vs Rs 578.09 lakhs loss in Q2 FY25) and Rs 266.77 lakhs loss for H1 FY26. Continuing operations revenue fell to Rs 329.49 lakhs in Q2 from Rs 374.73 lakhs a year ago, and engineering segment profit before tax turned to a Rs 63.55 lakh loss from a Rs 101.50 lakh profit. The company formally closed its Textile Division in April 2025 after receiving a government closure order in June 2025, with retrenchment of all workers and several pending labour cases whose outcome remains uncertain. Cash flow from operations swung sharply negative at Rs (610.65) lakhs versus Rs 716.21 lakhs positive last year. Auditor SH R & Co issued an unqualified limited review report.
Shareholders face continued losses, a shrinking continuing (engineering) business, negative operating cash flows, and unresolved liabilities from the wound-down textile division including pending labour cases, signalling near-term pressure on the stock despite the lower headline loss vs. prior year.
