Hindoostan Mills' board approved unaudited results for Q3 FY26 (ended Dec 31, 2025) showing total operating revenue of Rs. 346.95 lakhs and a modest profit of Rs. 10.12 lakhs from continuing (Engineering) operations, while the discontinued textile unit posted a Rs. 52 lakh loss. For the nine months, continuing operations profit fell sharply to Rs. 51.27 lakhs versus Rs. 249.79 lakhs a year ago, dragged by the textile shutdown. The board also decided to sell the entire machinery of its textile division at Karad at a floor price of Rs. 15 crores (net block value of only Rs. 5.65 crores), subject to shareholder approval via postal ballot. The textile business, which contributed 52.6% of FY25 turnover, was already shut down in April 2025 with all workers retrenched, leaving Engineering as the sole continuing business.
This filing crystallises the company's exit from its legacy textile business, which had been bleeding cash (Rs. 3.6 crore loss in 9M FY26). Shareholders should focus on the floor price of Rs. 15 crores — roughly 2.65x the net block value — which, if realised, would be a meaningful cash infusion. Near-term earnings remain weak given the loss-making textile drag and declining continuing operations profit.
