Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has appointed Shri Kota Ravi, previously Director (Operations), as Chairman & Managing Director effective 1st May 2026. The appointment is based on a Ministry of Defence letter dated 30th April 2026. He will serve until his superannuation on 30th June 2029, or until further orders from the Ministry of Defence, whichever is earlier. Shri Kota Ravi brings over 30 years of experience in aerospace and defence, having previously led the LCA Tejas Division and played a key role in securing major contracts including 180 LCA Tejas aircraft for the Indian Air Force. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree and is an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad.
This represents an internal promotion to the top leadership position, ensuring continuity in HAL's operations and strategic direction under a leader familiar with the company's defence manufacturing ecosystem.
