Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has appointed Shri Ajay Kumar Shrivastava as Director (Engineering and Research & Development) effective 15th July 2025, based on a Ministry of Defence directive. He has been promoted from his current role as Executive Director at HAL's Aircraft Research and Design Centre (ARDC). His term runs until 30th November 2026, which is his superannuation date. He is an internal appointee with 37 years at HAL, holding an Electronics Engineering degree from HBTI Kanpur and an MS in Aviation Safety from Toulouse, France. He has led key programmes including HTT-40 trainer aircraft certification and avionics upgrades for the HS-748, Do-228 and Sea King platforms. Dr. D K Sunil, Chairman and Managing Director, has relinquished the additional charge of this director role now that a full-time appointee is in place. The appointment is subject to shareholder approval at the next general meeting.
