Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has appointed Shri M G Balasubrahmanya as Director (HR) of the company with effect from 6th May 2025. He was previously serving as Executive Director (HR) at HAL and has been with the company since 1989, bringing over 35 years of experience in human resources. His term runs until 31st May 2027, which is his superannuation date, or until further orders from the Ministry of Defence, whichever is earlier. The appointment follows a Government of India letter from the Department of Defence Production. With this appointment, Dr. D K Sunil, the Chairman and Managing Director, ceases to hold the additional charge of the Director (HR) post he had been carrying.
This is a routine internal elevation and does not change the leadership at the top of HAL. The CMD remains in place and the company now has a full-time dedicated Director (HR), which could help strengthen the HR function but is unlikely to materially affect the stock price.
