Hindustan Copper Limited has informed shareholders about the tax deduction process on the dividend of Rs. 1.46 per equity share (face value Rs. 5) recommended for FY 2024-25, pending approval at the AGM on 25.09.2025. The record date for eligibility is 18.09.2025. As per the Income Tax Act, the company will deduct TDS at 10% for resident shareholders with a valid PAN, 20% for those without a valid PAN, and 20% (plus surcharge and cess) for non-resident shareholders. No TDS will apply if a resident individual's total dividend income in FY 2025-26 does not exceed Rs. 10,000 at the PAN level. Shareholders must submit required documents (PAN, Form 15G/15H/10F, declarations) to the company's RTA — Alankit Assignments Ltd — on or before 25.09.2025 to claim nil or lower TDS rates, failing which higher TDS will be deducted.
Shareholders should ensure their PAN and KYC details are updated with their depository or RTA before 25.09.2025 to avoid higher TDS deduction of 20% on their dividend income. Senior citizens and eligible individuals should file Form 15G/15H to receive the dividend without tax deduction, while non-residents need to submit Form 10F and a Tax Residency Certificate to claim DTAA benefits.
