AI summary

Hindustan Foods Limited's Board of Directors has approved an investment of Rs. 30 Crores through its Wholly Owned Subsidiary (WOS) to acquire businesses engaged in manufacturing of Ice-Cream Cones and Sleeve Printing. The company has stated that further details regarding the acquisition will be shared with the exchange once the Board evaluates, considers, and decides on the specifics. The investment is subject to further deliberation by the Board and applicable legal procedures to be followed by the WOS.

Likely market impact

This acquisition signals portfolio diversification into ice-cream cone and packaging (sleeve printing) manufacturing, which are adjacencies to Hindustan Foods' existing food and contract manufacturing business. The relatively modest Rs. 30 Crore size limits material financial impact, but the strategic intent to expand into these segments could be a positive signal for long-term growth.
