Hindustan Zinc has secured a Composite Licence from the Government of Uttar Pradesh for the Nawatola Laband Rare Earth Elements Block, covering 210.01 hectares in Sonbhadra District. The licence allows the company to undertake reconnaissance, prospecting and exploration activities. If exploration succeeds and statutory conditions are met, HZL becomes eligible for a Mining Lease under the MMDR Act. This marks the company's entry into the rare earth elements space.
Positive long-term signal as HZL enters the strategically important rare earth elements segment. Value depends on exploration outcomes and future mining lease grant.
