Hindustan Zinc has been declared the successful bidder for the Jhandawali-Satipura Amalgamated Potash and Halite Block in Rajasthan under Tranche V of the Government of India's critical mineral auctions. The company offered a 03.05% final price. The block covers 1,841.22 hectares and is at the G3 exploration level. A Composite License will be granted to Hindustan Zinc. This expands the company's mineral portfolio beyond zinc, lead, and silver into potash and halite (salt), both of which are critical minerals.
Positive long-term signal — diversification into critical minerals (potash & halite) aligns with India's self-reliance push, but the block is early-stage (G3) and near-term revenue impact is unclear.
