Hitachi Energy India announced its Q1FY26 (April-June 2025) results on July 30, 2025. Orders surged 365% year-on-year to Rs 11,339.2 crore, driven by the large Bhadla-Fatehpur HVDC link project win and a bulk transformer order from POWERGRID. Revenue grew 15.3% YoY to Rs 1,529.8 crore, while profit after tax jumped over 11x to Rs 131.6 crore from a low base of Rs 10.4 crore in Q1FY25. Operational EBITDA margin expanded to 11.1% (from 4.6%), and the order backlog hit a record Rs 29,125.3 crore, giving strong revenue visibility. Service orders grew 91% YoY, and exports contributed 24.7% to the order mix. Sequentially, revenue and profit declined versus Q4FY25, reflecting normal seasonality.
A record order backlog and surging new orders signal strong future revenue, while the sharp margin expansion and multi-fold PAT growth on a low base highlight improving operational efficiency. Short-term stock reaction could be positive, though the QoQ dip in revenue and profit is typical and likely already priced in.
