Five promoters of HMA Agro Industries sold shares through an Offer for Sale (OFS) on April 9-10, 2026 at a floor price of Rs. 18 per share to meet the Minimum Public Shareholding (MPS) requirement. Zulfiqar Ahmad Qurashi, Mohammad Ashraf Qureshi, and Mohammad Mehmood Qureshi each sold 71,41,000 shares (1.43% each), reducing their holdings from 18.43% to 17.01%. Guizar Ahmad sold 42,56,543 shares (0.85%), falling from 13.01% to 12.16%, and Wajid Ahmed sold 75,01,630 shares (1.50%), dropping from 10.00% to 8.50%. In total, approximately 3.32 crore shares worth around Rs. 59.7 crore (at floor price) were offloaded, lowering combined promoter holding from roughly 78.3% to 71.7%.
The sale is a regulatory-driven OFS to boost public float and comply with MPS norms, not a signal of weak promoter confidence. The float increase may improve liquidity and trading volumes, though the larger share supply could exert short-term pressure on the stock price near the Rs. 18 floor price.
