Honasa Consumer Limited has disclosed the outcome of arbitration proceedings against RSMM General Trading LLC (RSM). The Sole Arbitrator, Justice (Retd.) Hrishikesh Roy, passed a Final Award on May 14, 2026, entirely in favor of Honasa. The Arbitral Tribunal ruled that RSM breached the arbitration agreement by filing proceedings in Dubai courts, and that Honasa's termination of the Authorized Distributor Agreement was valid. The Company has been awarded AED 7,254,340 (approximately INR 18.88 crore) towards costs for Dubai proceedings, costs of substitution, and loss of profits. RSM has also been permanently restrained from initiating or continuing any proceedings before Dubai courts. The arbitration award validates Honasa's legal position in this long-standing dispute that began with a Dubai court judgment against the Company.
This is a positive development for Honasa Consumer Limited as it vindicates the Company's stance on the termination of the distributor agreement and results in a monetary award of INR 18.88 crore from RSM. The permanent injunction against RSM also removes legal uncertainty, which could be supportive of the stock price.
