Honda India Power Products reported FY2026 revenue of Rs 86,545 lakhs, up 9% from Rs 79,423 lakhs in FY2025. However, profit after tax declined 20% to Rs 6,424 lakhs from Rs 7,994 lakhs, with EPS dropping to Rs 63.33 from Rs 78.81. The profit decline was partly due to an exceptional charge of Rs 185 lakhs for statutory impact of new Labour Codes (gratuity Rs 702 lakhs and compensated absences Rs 297 lakhs). The Board recommended a final dividend of Rs 13 per share (130%) payable on September 17, 2026 to shareholders on record August 19, 2026. Key leadership changes include appointment of Mr. Sameer Jain as Chief Corporate Officer from July 2026 and Whole-Time Director from September 2026, replacing Mr. Vinay Mittal who retires in September 2026.
Despite revenue growth of 9%, the 20% decline in profitability and EPS may concern investors. However, the 130% dividend payout signals management confidence. The leadership transition and new Labour Code costs represent near-term headwinds but may strengthen governance going forward.
