Housing sales fall 6% across top 7 cities in Q2 as West Asia conflict dents buyer sentiment; launches rise 7%: ANAROCK

Housing sales across India's top 7 cities fell 6% year-on-year to around 90,715 units in Q2 2026, down 11% sequentially, as the West Asia conflict dampened buyer sentiment. Despite weaker demand, new project launches rose 7% annually to about 1.06 lakh units, though they declined 16% quarter-on-quarter. MMR and Bengaluru led the market with roughly 48% of sales and 53% of new launches, while unsold inventory rose 10% year-on-year to over 6.16 lakh units, signalling a more balanced housing market with premium segments driving activity.
