HUDCO reported its highest-ever quarterly performance for Q1FY26. Net profit rose 13% year-on-year to ₹630.23 crore, driven by a 34% jump in operational income to ₹2,937.31 crore. Loan sanctions surged 143% YoY to ₹34,224 crore, while disbursements hit a record ₹12,812 crore, taking the loan book to an all-time high of ₹1,34,410 crore (up 29% YoY). Asset quality remained best-in-class with GNPA at 1.34% and NNPA at 0.09%, backed by a 93.49% provision coverage ratio. The company also declared an interim dividend of ₹1.15 per share, and the average cost of borrowings improved from 7.57% to 7.11% YoY.
Strong operational momentum and record loan growth signal healthy business expansion, though slightly compressed net interest margins (2.94% vs 2.06% YoY, incl. EBR) may temper upside. The robust government-backed loan book, lowest NPAs in the industry, and improving borrowing costs are positive for long-term shareholders, while the recently signed ₹3.5 lakh crore MoUs with state governments over 5 years provide a strong multi-year visibility pipeline.
