HUDCO reported a strong Q1 FY26 with loan book at INR1.34 lakh crore, growing 30% year-on-year and 8% quarter-on-quarter. Q1 disbursements hit an all-time high of INR12,800 crore, while sanctions jumped 143% sequentially to INR34,000 crore. Revenue grew 34% year-on-year and net profit rose 13% year-on-year. Asset quality improved sharply, with gross NPA falling from 1.67% to 1.34% and net NPA below 0.1%; no new NPAs in the last 10 quarters, with management targeting zero NPA within 16 months. Incremental borrowing cost came in at a competitive 6.32%, and the company has a strong sanction pipeline of INR1.5 lakh crore plus MOUs with states worth INR7-8 lakh crore. NIM dipped to 2.94% in Q1 due to late-quarter disbursements, but management guided recovery above 3% from Q2 onwards.
Positive for shareholders — management indicated the FY26 loan book guidance of INR1.5 lakh crore will be exceeded (likely INR1.55-1.60 lakh crore), with the FY30 target of INR3 trillion potentially achievable earlier. The Q1 NIM dip and one-time forex mark-to-market loss of ~INR100 crore are unlikely to weigh on sentiment given clear recovery path and strong growth visibility.
