HUDCO's Bond Allotment Committee is meeting on June 6, 2025 to approve the issue and allotment of unsecured, taxable, redeemable, non-convertible, non-cumulative debentures (Series-C 2025) on a private placement basis. The issue size is Rs. 500 crore with a green shoe option to retain oversubscription up to Rs. 2,500 crore, aggregating to Rs. 3,000 crore. Each debenture has a face value of Rs. 1,00,000, a 3-year tenor maturing on June 6, 2028, and annual coupon payments. The NCDs carry the highest AAA/Stable rating from ICRA, CARE, and India Ratings. This issuance is part of the Board's earlier approval (April 4, 2025) to raise up to Rs. 65,000 crore through bonds/debentures during FY 2025-26, with proceeds meant for lending activities and refinancing existing debt.
This is a routine debt-raising exercise by HUDCO, a government-owned Navratna CPSE with AAA ratings, so credit risk is minimal. Shareholders are not directly affected as these are non-convertible bonds, not equity. The successful Rs. 3,000 crore raise will strengthen HUDCO's lending capacity for its housing and urban infrastructure financing business.
