IIFL Capital Services reported Q4 FY'26 consolidated revenues of INR644 crores, up 20% year-on-year, driven by strong institutional broking and investment banking. Full-year FY'26 operational revenue stood at INR2,439 crores, virtually flat YoY, as retail revenues declined 9% to INR1,121 crores due to SEBI regulatory changes impacting the first full year. Financial product distribution income grew robustly by 16% to ~INR590 crores, with AUM growing from INR31,000 crores to INR52,000 crores. However, employee costs increased steeply to INR687 crores and finance costs rose 17% to INR210 crores due to MTF book growth, resulting in operational PBT declining 22% for the full year. The company raised INR500 crores through its capital credit opportunities fund and flagged an income tax department notice of ~INR56 crores combined for the block period, which management believes will not have material adverse impact.
Despite strong quarterly recovery, rising employee and finance costs are compressing margins, and the IT department notice adds regulatory uncertainty. However, strong growth in distribution income and AUM, along with a healthy net worth of ~INR3,000 crores, provide capital adequacy for continued growth. The management's evasive stance on acquisition plans and Fairfax stake increase leaves investors without clarity on potential catalysts.
