India, EU aim to complete FTA legal scrubbing in 15-20 days, says Piyush Goyal

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said India and the EU aim to complete the legal scrubbing of their Free Trade Agreement in the next 15 to 20 days, targeting the FTA to become operational in the first quarter of 2027. Goyal, who will visit Spain, Belgium and Finland on July 14-15 with a business delegation, is also scheduled to meet EU Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic in Brussels to expedite the legal review. The pact is expected to open markets of 27 developed countries for Indian businesses and boost exports.
