India's office leasing hits record as multinationals expand despite global uncertainty

India's office sector absorbed a record 45.5 million square feet in H1 2026, up 9.6 percent year-on-year, the highest ever for any six-month period, according to a CBRE report. Global Capability Centres accounted for 43 percent of all leasing, with GCC deals jumping 30 percent year-on-year and Fortune 500 firms taking 6.8 million sq ft in Q2 alone. CBRE expects office demand to remain resilient through the rest of 2026, supported by long-term expansion priorities of multinationals seeking talent and cost advantages.
