Avendus Capital projects India's REIT and InvIT market will attract Rs 11.6 trillion in new investments, with AUM doubling to Rs 20 trillion by 2030 from Rs 10 trillion currently across 32 listed trusts. Key drivers include Rs 4.6 trillion from domestic mutual funds, Rs 3.2 trillion from insurance firms, and Rs 2.2 trillion from pension funds, with domestic institutions having utilized only 7.5% of their regulatory limits. Global index inclusion could unlock over Rs 1 trillion, while India remains underpenetrated at 1.5% of GDP versus 5-12% in mature markets like the US, Australia, Singapore, and Japan.
