IEX reported strong financial performance for FY26 with Total Revenue of Rs 747 Cr (up 13.6% from Rs 657.4 Cr in FY25) and PAT of Rs 671.2 Cr (up 56.4% YoY). Electricity volumes grew 17% to 141.1 BU while Renewable Energy Certificates increased 5% to 187 Lakh. However, power prices declined significantly due to improved sell-side liquidity (+49% YoY), with Day-Ahead Market MCP falling from Rs 5.24 to Rs 3.86 per unit. The exchange continues to benefit from India's energy transition with robust capacity additions in renewables and battery storage systems (BESS). New products like TAM extended to 11 months and upcoming Green RTM are expected to drive further volume growth. IEX also operates Indian Gas Exchange (IGX) which recorded 76.8 Mn MMBTU volumes in FY26.
Strong profit growth and volume expansion indicate IEX's market leadership in power trading, though declining prices may pressure transaction fee revenues. The company's diversified product pipeline and regulatory support position it well for continued growth.
