Indian Hume Pipe Company has published its audited Q4 and full-year FY25 results in Business Standard (English) and Sakal (Marathi) on May 15, 2025. Total income from operations for FY25 stood at ₹40,728.70 lakhs, compared to ₹39,522.59 lakhs in the previous year. Net profit after tax for the year jumped sharply to ₹49,927.01 lakhs, while Q4 FY25 PAT alone was ₹55,805.24 lakhs versus just ₹4,366.81 lakhs in Q4 FY24. However, profit before tax and exceptional items for the year was only ₹863.09 lakhs, indicating the surge was driven by large one-time exceptional or extraordinary items worth roughly ₹57,500 lakhs. Basic and diluted EPS for the year was ₹94.77, against ₹8.29 in Q4 FY24.
The headline profit growth looks spectacular but is largely inflated by exceptional/one-time items rather than core business performance, since revenue remained almost flat year-on-year. Shareholders should look at profit before exceptional items (₹863 lakhs) to gauge real operational health before reacting to the stock.
