Indian Hume Pipe Company has announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2025, approved at the board meeting on August 12, 2025. Revenue from operations fell to ₹30,743 lakhs from ₹36,414 lakhs in the same quarter last year, a drop of about 15.6%, largely because the year-ago quarter included a one-time real estate revenue of ₹3,137 lakhs from a TDR (transferable development rights) transaction. Core construction revenue declined roughly 7.6% year-on-year. Net profit stood at ₹2,192 lakhs versus ₹3,116 lakhs in Q1 FY25, down about 29.6%, with EPS of ₹4.16 against ₹5.91 earlier. On the positive side, the construction segment's profit before tax and finance costs jumped 63% to ₹4,101 lakhs, showing stronger execution margins, and other income rose sharply. The statutory auditor K.S. Aiyar & Co. issued an unmodified limited review report.
The headline numbers look weak due to the year-ago base effect from a non-recurring real estate deal, but the underlying construction business is showing healthy margin expansion. Shareholders recently received a ₹5.80 per share total dividend (including a ₹4 special dividend), and the clean auditor opinion should reassure investors. Short-term stock reaction may be muted given the profit decline, but the strong construction segment performance is a positive signal.
