Indian Sucrose reported Q1 FY26 results for the quarter ended 30 June 2025. Revenue from operations fell to Rs. 8,368 lakhs, down about 33% from Rs. 12,450 lakhs in the same quarter last year. Total income stood at Rs. 8,600 lakhs versus Rs. 12,654 lakhs year-on-year. Profit after tax (PAT) came in at Rs. 197 lakhs, down from Rs. 280 lakhs a year earlier, while EPS dropped to Rs. 1.14 from Rs. 1.61. On the positive side, finance costs reduced sharply to Rs. 562 lakhs from Rs. 741 lakhs, helping lift operating margins slightly. The company has flagged that its sugar and cogeneration segments are seasonal, so the quarter's performance may not reflect full-year trends.
The sharp revenue dip looks worrying, but management attributes it to the seasonal nature of sugar operations, so investors should track the full-year trajectory rather than react to Q1 alone. The drop in finance costs is a healthy sign of deleveraging, while the clean (unqualified) limited review report from the auditor provides comfort on disclosure quality.
