Indigo Paints filed the transcript of its Q1 FY26 earnings call held on August 8, 2025. Standalone sales grew marginally by 0.3% in value terms, while EBITDA declined 4.7% to INR 43.6 crores with margin at 14.8% (vs 15.6% YoY). PAT was largely flat at INR 26.4 crores. On a consolidated basis, revenue dipped 0.7% to INR 308.9 crores, EBITDA fell 6.5% to INR 44.3 crores, and PAT slipped 2.2% to INR 26.1 crores. The management attributed the weak Q1 to early onset of monsoons and the Indo-Pakistan conflict in May that disrupted sales in Kerala and northern states. Apple Chemie (subsidiary) saw a 17.6% revenue drop but reported significant gross margin improvement, with new MS polymer product line expected to launch soon. Management noted a strong sales recovery in July and expects stable margins going forward, with capex on water-based and solvent-based plants at Jodhpur progressing.
Q1 results were weak and below prior year, primarily due to weather and geopolitical disruptions rather than competitive or structural issues. July recovery signals and stable margin outlook provide some comfort, but near-term performance remains dependent on monsoon withdrawal and demand revival before Diwali.
