Indo-National Limited (Nippo batteries) reported standalone revenue from operations of Rs. 119.44 crore for Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025), up about 7% from Rs. 111.66 crore in Q1 FY25. Standalone profit after tax jumped 60% YoY to Rs. 1.62 crore (from Rs. 1.01 crore), with EPS rising to Rs. 2.16 from Rs. 1.35. Consolidated PAT was Rs. 1.07 crore, sharply lower YoY mainly because Q1 FY25 had a one-time large other income of Rs. 181.6 crore that did not recur. The board approved the re-appointment of P. Dwaraknath Reddy as Managing Director and Aditya Reddy as Joint Managing Director for a fresh 5-year term starting October 1, 2025, and appointed BLN Prasad as an Additional Non-executive Director. The board also amended Article 147 of the Articles of Association to align with Section 152(6)(a) of the Companies Act, clarifying that one-third of directors (excluding Managing/Whole-time and Independent Directors) will retire by rotation each year.
Operationally, the standalone business shows improving profitability driven by rural consumption recovery, channel expansion, and product premiumisation in the battery category. The CCI penalty matter (Rs. 42.26 crore, currently stayed) remains a key overhang, and ongoing investments in Medcuore Medical and Axial Aero point to diversification beyond core batteries. The pending amalgamation with Helios Strategic Systems could change the consolidated picture once completed.
