Infosys, through its wholly owned subsidiary Infosys Singapore Pte. Ltd., will acquire a 75% stake in Versent Group (Telstra Purple Pty Ltd) for AUD 233.25 million, while Telstra retains a 25% minority stake. Versent Group is Australia's leading digital transformation solutions provider with FY25 revenues of AUD 211.4 million and a team of 650 engineers. The deal gives Infosys operational control and a strong foothold in Australia, combining Versent's local cloud expertise with Infosys' AI (Topaz), cloud (Cobalt), and cybersecurity (The Missing Link) capabilities. The transaction is expected to close in H2 FY2026, subject to approvals from Australia's Foreign Investment Review Board and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. This builds on Infosys' earlier multi-year collaborations with Telstra in 2024 and 2025.
This is a strategic, cash-funded acquisition that strengthens Infosys' presence in the Australian market and adds meaningful revenue and talent (650 professionals) in cloud and digital transformation. Shareholders are likely to view it positively as a focused, bolt-on deal in a key growth geography, though the deal size and earnouts mean execution and integration will be watched closely.
