Interise Trust has disclosed that NHAI issued a circular on September 13, 2025 reducing the WPI (Wholesale Price Index) linking factor used to compute user fee (toll) rates for public-funded and BOT projects. The change affects how WPI is converted from the current base year of 2011-12 to the older base year of 2004-05, which will change current and future toll rates across BOT projects owned by the Trust's project SPVs. The Project Manager, project SPVs, and Investment Manager are currently evaluating the financial impact of this change and will decide on a course of action. The Trust has merely informed the exchanges and is not yet committing to a specific response or revised guidance.
This is a potentially negative development for unitholders because lower toll rate revisions could reduce revenues and future cash distributions from the Trust's BOT road projects.
