United Breweries Limited (UBL), makers of Kingfisher beer and part of HEINEKEN Company, is expanding its production capacity in Andhra Pradesh through a leasing arrangement with Ilios Breweries Private Limited. The lease arrangement is effective from May 20, 2025, following excise approval received on May 19, 2025. UBL already operates a wholly owned brewery in Ranasthalam, Srikakulam district, and this additional facility will strengthen its regional footprint and supply chain agility. The expansion aims to meet rising consumer demand, improve distribution efficiency, and capitalise on supportive regulatory changes favouring lower-alcohol beverages, particularly during peak seasons.
This signals UBL's continued growth focus in a key South Indian market and should help the company capture rising beer demand in Andhra Pradesh. Since the expansion is via a lease rather than a fresh capital investment, the financial burden is likely limited, making it a relatively low-risk capacity addition for shareholders.
